It's Raining, It's Pouring....

And yes my old man is snoring!

Talk about a lot of rain.

My garage is constantly flooding, thankfully not horrifically mind.
(I feel for anyone who's home floods regular)

But I refuse to look dull and dark like the weather and put on my bright rain coat and ultra colourful dress.

You couldn't miss me in this get up!

Jacket - eBay
Dress - eBay
Necklace - Tesco
Shoes - Debenhams

What this weather does mean is that it's so much harder drying the clothes unless you put on the tumble drier all the time, which as you know is far too much money.

Sooo, here's my solution:

A new electric airer from Lakeland.

With a cost of only 5p per hour (3p for us over night) it makes drying the clothes effortless and even better cheap too.

A real win win in my book.

Does anyone else have one of these?

I was so impressed it turned up two days after I ordered it.

  1. I would love to know how well you get on with it, we have a dryer but I try not to use it, however with 5 of us we always have stacks of washing to dry on the airers and in the winter it takes ages.

I don't suppose you know how much a tumble costs to run per hour to compare the two? I am quite tempted to join you in buying one, but am trying to have a frugal month!

    1. So far so good. It drys the clothes really fast and makes the upstair lovely and warm too. Not too sure on the comparison but I shall find out and let you know.

    1. Thankfully this is hidden away in a spare room so works great and doesn't make the place look to bad either. Win win in my book.

  5. When we refitted our kitchen I had to decided dryer or dishwasher as there wasn't room for both. I went with the dryer. There are 6 of us in the house and I can't bear laundry lying around.
I love the bright outfit today - just what this weather needs.

    1. Its bad enough with three of us so I can imagine how much washing you must get with six.

I felt bright and happy all day in this, even with my sore back. Just shows how a little injection of colour can make you feel.

  7. Love your colourful outfit, perfect for rainy days.
I am going to have to investigate the electric airer, even with just two of us to do laundry for I never seem to be on top of it at this time of year, I'm always waiting for things to dry!
