A Week Away, Peace And Quite?

Saturday I dropped Ashleigh off to PGL.

An adventure holiday for children where she will be learning to drive a little mini, as well as taking part in loads of activities.

Not bad for a 15 year old!

She is only an hour down the road at Boreatton Park in Shropshire.

I have no worries about her going on her own, I know she will make loads of new friends.
(A little like me she would be happy talking to a card board cut out!)

Like every girl she has packed light;

Ok I lied not light at all!

The house is suddenly very still and quiet.

Andy likes to think we should have adult conversation.
(in other words fall out about money!)

Me, I just want to chill and enjoy the peace as the next week will pass before we know it!

It should give me time to sort out or holiday clothes, catch up with my ironing and eat all the meals that Ashleigh doesn't like!

I am sure by Wednesday I will be missing her like crazy!

Sale Bargains!

You know the old saying looking leads to buying?

Well that is so true in my case.

I popped into our local Bhs, which I very rarely do and spotted a few things in there sale.

The jewellery was reduced and also buy one get one free.

So I brought;

Ring £1

The blue stone is a fab colour.

Earrings £2

Great for work.

And these very sparkly sandals.

Whilst they may not look too fab off they sparkle when they are on.

I truly must have been a magpie in a former life!

(The shoe ban truly has gone out the window)

My only saving grace was that I had to throw a pair of leather shoes out as they had ripped and were beyond repair, so I haven't really added any more just topped the number up a little!

The Good, The Bad And The Ugly

Not too much has occurred this week but heres what made it onto my list:

The Good
Image from stockphotopro.com
A week of normal work including a day off!

The Bad

My youngest now loosing my iPhone!
I am NOT a happy mommy!

The Ugly

Having a daughter grounded all week during the school holidays.
One word......Hell!

Never mind eh, worse things happen.

She is off to PGL for a week tomorrow so a week apart will do us good.

Bless.

Thifty finds!

Lets be honest we all love a bargain, be it a sale item or a thrifty find.

Well Last week whilst I was working like a maniac, I ventured into new little charity shops and emerged with some real gems.

This pretty straw bag was hanging by the window and caught my eye as I walked past.
Ideal for my holiday.

It cost me a whole £2.

As for the top, well I know it may look a little granny like but I can see some potential.
(Watch this space!)
Not my usual style but never the less I shall give it a whirl.

And if not well for £1 it doesn't really matter that much.

These shoes turned out to be the best deal for me.
Brand new and leather

Ravel shoes, brand new for £4.
(Don't tell hubby!)
I have snuck them in with out him noticing.
By far the smallest heels I now own!

Please excuse the fact that it looks like my ankles are bandaged!

What delights have you found on your resent thrifting expeditions?

Red. A Little Touching Up!

Today I touched up my hair colour.

(If you were thinking I might mean anything else clear out your minds naughty people!)

In years gone past I have been many colours, many would say I am still a blonde but that's for another time I think..

I used to think nothing of booking into the hairdressers for a cut and colour and coming out without any change from £150. Crazy!

Now my hair gets trimmed as needed and I pay no more than £25 tops.

As for my colour?

Well this is the form it comes in;

And never costs more than £6 either.

The coffee is exactly the kind I like as is the company and conversation.

And I always like the results too.
(Bonus!)

I'd like to think I can then spend that little extra on creating memories with the people that matter.

So do you spend a fortune of your barnett?

Or are you frugal as can be?

A Little Bit Of Segway Fun!

Now back at Christmas I gave my hubby and youngest a Segway adventure as part of there Christmas present. (Thank you Tesco vouchers!) I booked it for a few Saturdays ago and what a day we all had!

Chunky wheels or what!

We got to the centre to see all the other people queuing up for their supper car experiences and truth be told I think they both would have preferred to have been off doing that!
Super cars....

But never the less they got ready for the experience, none of us could have preempted the hair nets though!
Would you believe they were classed as safety attire!

After they were suited and booted,
Suits you sir!

I shall call them robbo cop and mini robbo cop!

The training began.

Andy looked so serious,
Who needs speed when you have a segway!

But Ashleigh really didn't like it at all!
"Not liking it!" Face.

Even after a little more coaching she was having none of it!
"Err no I don't think I will thank you!"

Bless them they allowed me to take her place.
Bet you wish you had a funky hair net like mine!

Ready, steady GO...

Off we went into the woods.
Trust them to put me at the back.

Off into the woods we went.

It was fantastic.

Ashleigh enjoyed taking all the photos.

How can he deny how much fun he had? Look at the smile!

He enjoyed speeding up to loose me bless.

It was fun.

We even kept all the cones intact.

So even though they would have rather have been driving around in extremely fast cars we had a cracking day.

And even better if didn't cost a penny!
