Oldie But A Goody...

This dress must be down to pennies, infact half pennies per wear by now.
(do you remember them?)
Its so comfy to wear that I am always drawn to it when comfy is what's needed.

A little short now really but heck we all have legs, might as well show them off.
And as long as I'm not showing pants then alls good isn't it?

Today I have had the company of my mom, which has been lovely.
No sister today though she is off for a catch up with the girlies.

Now my house is sparkling clean and all my washing and ironing fully completed.
My mom is like a little whirl wind and doesn't seem to compute the words no or sit down.
Bless her.

Weekend Adventures....

You may well have notice that I was MIA for  a few days.
(What do you mean you never noticed? Cheeky!)

Well as hubby was working over in Hereford I was able to go with him and stay in our home on wheels for a few days.

Our welcome party each morning

It was lovely and peaceful, even if the weather was rather hit and miss.

Rain, rain go away!

Hay on Wye was only a stones throw away and we spent a good few hours in both the book shops and antique markets.

Super cute little shop

I even bartered to buy two fab items, but more on that another time.

As usually I ended up having a day of feeling like pants.
Even I am totally fed up of it now, after all who wants constant stomach pains?
Not me thats for sure!

Hay on Wye

We had no phone or internet signal whilst we were away.
And whilst that might sound like hell to most people, it was actually nice to be cut off for a day or so.
And I finished one book and I'm now half way through another.

Hay on Wye castle

But now its back to normal, well almost.

Nothing bets a cuppa in the sunshine with a good book and a little music.

I'm off to catch up with all the blog posts I have missed.

Happy St George's Day.....

St George's day.
It always reminds me if my dear old dad.
Whilst in the eyes of a daddy's little girl (me) he was most definitely a saint, it's more to do with his middle name being George.

Full of life, laughter, energy and fun.

And I miss him everyday.

Love you pops.

Made By Me!

Other than sewing my cushion covers and Ashleigh's memory throw before Christmas, my last sewing was back at school.
(And that was far too many years to mention)

So after purchasing all this lovely fabric I knew I had to finally bite the bullet and make something wearable.
Well, I hoped it would be wearable anyway.

And the first result is this top:

Far from perfect.
It should have just crossed over but wasn't quite covering my boobies, hence the pink fabric to save my dignity.
That will teach me for not using a proper pattern.

But it works and its wearable so win win in my book.

The total cost £4.
Not bad really.

Now lets see if the rest of my sewing can be an improvement on this.

Sew.........

Take three girls and a shop full of fabric and you just know that its going to cost a few pennies!
Thankfully this is a very cheap fabric warehouse in Brum, so the bill won't break the bank.

I just couldn't resist the bright florals.
Especially with the sun shining outside, making me feel very summery.

Two of these will hopefully be making a dress, whilst the other two (I hope) will turn into a top and a skirt.

Even Ashleigh wants to make a dress out of the blue floral fabric.

It wasn't until I got home that I saw how matched the colours were to my flowers Kassie brought me.

They are beautiful and make me smile when I see them.

Easter Giveaway.....

Now it's no secret that Easter is a big thing in our household.
It always has been and with a father in law who was a minister it couldn't be anything but.

And as the family have all grown up you would be forgiven for thinking that the gifts are no longer cheap Easter eggs, but beautiful flowers or unique jewellery. However you would be wrong.
My lot are still just as happy receiving an Easter egg now as they were when they were tiny.

Goodies galore!
Plus you will receive a mystery gift too.
Intrigued aren't ya?!

And of course you guys, my blogging friends, should join in with our Easter too.
I would invite you all for a yummy lunch on Easter Sunday but my table is no where near big enough!

So instead I have a giveaway for my fabulous followers.
The folks that read my misspelt words, look at my dodgy photos and leave comments to make my day.
You folks are fab!

Good Friday Indeed....

What a sunny day we have had.
A little chilly (a jumper came out at one point) but beautiful to say the least.

Top - H&M (old)
Skirt - Primark
Shoes - Dorothy Perkins

It would have been an ideal day for work up the lottie, but with an aching back I decided against it.

Instead I have pottered in the garden and booked two camp sites ready for our main French holiday later in the year.

We also have a weekend away next week all being well.
Lets hope the weather stays like this.

Hope you are all enjoying your Easter what ever your plans might be.

Rocking Kate Style...

Well if its good enough for Kate then its good enough for me.

Well that and I have always loved a good old stripy top.

After all whats not to love?
Now if only I could look like her too....

.

Not quite the hot sunny day here today but dry never the less.
And no allotment or gardening as I'm knackered!

That said I have had the sewing machine out.
Watch this space for a special DIY preview very soon.

A Lot More Lottie Time.....

Beautiful sunshine makes even the grottiest of jobs that little bit more bearable.

Today I have enjoyed sorting my strawberry plot up at the lottie:

Crawling on my knees to fit this was quite a sight!

And with the help of my assistant clearing yet more weeds:

Just the second half to go now.

Well Ash did the digging and I did the directing.

Back home I have planted yet more seeds.
Well you can never have enough.

Dodgy photo from my phone sorry!

And baked a rhubarb custard tart for pudding:

It tasted divine.

The family seem to have rhubarb every day as we have so much.
Not that I'm complaining.

All the animals have been thoroughly enjoying the weather too.

Hope you have had a great day.
