Aged to perfection, like a fine bottle of wine!

40 And Proud!

Just wanted to share my 40th birthday with you. As you know I was in Venice to celebrate it and had a fantastic time. Even spending a few minutes of it in Casanovas cell!

It was a enjoyable day.

On the evening on my birthday we went to a beautiful restaurant for a slap up meal and a large bottle of wine.

Hubby looked dashing!

Venice left me with some very happy memories.

When we returned home in was birthday number two!
Hubby got me not one but six cards! A little excessive don't you think?!
However each one represented a side of me.

The "Shout it from the roof tops it's my birthday!" card.    Along with the "How old!" card.

Then came the "misery" card, as I always have a grumpy week before my birthday.
Of course the soppy wife card.

And lastly the funnies. One as I am happy to show up my kids, which as you can imagine they hate! and the other as hubby thinks I can be a little cheeky shall we say!

As for gifts, I had some lovely things. My favourite had to be my Raybans! I had not one pair but two.

I love the detail on the inside.

Hubby also got me some beautiful Janet Reger underwear.

I had a beautiful bag from my sister, strawberry and champagne jam from my nephew (yummy), a tagine (as mine had broken, lots of chocs, silver frame, one of my favourite perfumes from my best friend, along with far to many other things to mention!

Lets just say I was well and truly spoilt!
I now even have birthday money to spend. Oh what to buy??
Hope you all have fantastic plans for the weekend. Mine will be baking valentine cookies for hubby!

Enjoy.

Much love.

Venice Part 3

Our third day in Venice was the 1st February, my birthday. Not just any birthday but my 40th!
We had the day previous prebooked tickets for the Secret Itineraries tour of the Doge's Palace. This takes you behind the scenes and into what was Casanova's cell!

So back to Piazza san Marco we went.

I got told off for messing on my phone! However I still answered all my birthday texts and ofcause the calls from my girls.

The Doge's Palace looked beautiful in the sunlight.

From outside we admired the Bridge of Sighs.

And took in the views whislt we waited for our guide.

Inside was just as stunning.

The "bocca di leone" used for denouncing tax evaders made us laugh, no wonder it's no longer used it would be permanently full!!

As we began the secret part of the tour, once up the lavish Sansovinos staircases cameras were forbiden.

After a tour of the palace offices, hall of chancellery, the state inquisitors room and tourture room we were shown the cells. Then free to explore the palace itself.

It was good to see the Bridge of Sighs from the other side.

Then lunch.

A perfect pizza whilst planning the remainder of the day.

Venice Part 2

A little later than planned but here are a few more pics from Venice.

On our first evening we had an explore.
It really is stunning by night.

Even quite Phantom of the Opera!

The following morning we sussed out the water bus time table, or rather hubby did!

And caught the water bus to Piazza San Marco.
Seeing a chair delivery was rather strange!

The weather was again sunny and we went to the top of the Campanile to see the views.

The views were truly breathtaking. We could see for miles!
The Campanile itself is 323ft high, to it's spire and considering my hubby does not do heights I think he did very well!

We then took a stroll around to take in the views.

San Marco is very beautiful even with work taking place.
(Andy calls them the Trayci birthday works as every year where ever we go work is taking place due to being out of season! Andy's favourite saying "what a stupid time to have a birthday!" charming eh!!)

We continued on with a stroll to take in more sights.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures.
Much love Trayci
