Happy Good Friday...

Today I have attended a Good Friday service, an hour by the cross, which is such a moving service.

And later I shall watch the Preston Pride, which I recorded whilst at church.

This weekend is one which I look forward to very much, filled with faith, family, love and friendship.

So I am off to finish making my Easter cards, bake my hot cross buns and create a centre piece for the table ready for Sunday.

Enjoy what ever you have planned for the Easter bank holiday and with a bit of luck the weather may well stay dry.

Easter Preparation...

Like most people, hubby not included, I have a few days off over Easter and I can't wait.

(That is if the snow stays away)

But before that I have to prepare for Easter day itself.

Why?

Well, in our family it is a little like christmas, as we all get together and exchange gifts.

Being the frugal lady I am, I have tried to be good this year and have a frugal gifts to give.

My nieces shall both be getting gift sets (purchased for next to nothing of course!) along with a cream egg.

And the other members of the family will also be getting cream eggs, home made vanilla macaroons  and a home made card, other than my mom who will be getting an extra special home made cake.

As it will be my turn to host the meal this year I have been looking for table decoration ideas, as well as desserts.

Heres are a few that caught my eye so far;

Some beautiful table settings which I could copy without spending too many pennies.

So many yummy looking desserts to chose from!

Not too sure that they will be good for the waist line though!

Any ideas or tips to give for the  Easter table or meal?

Casual Attire....

You know those days when you really just want to be comfy?

And for me comfy/casual can often mean jeans which for work is a big no no.

So I needed a work style casual.

And in words of Barney Stinson...

So I had to adapt my usual comfy to this...

Jacket - next
Top - dorothy perkins
Trousers - topshop
Shoes - debenhams
Scarf - thrifted

Trayci comfy!

Not jeans but still comfy enough to feel casual whilst still being smart enough for work.

And also keeping me warm in these icy conditions too.
(Well all but my feet that is!)

And Out It Comes Again!

Watch it you dirty minded people!

I meant one of my favourite dresses.

You know how you tend to have a dress that is just so comfy to wear?

Well this is mine.

In fact I wore it this time last year to here.

Whilst we had that glorious sunshine, (Seems like a distant memory today!) this time I paired it with a bright pink belt and my sparkly shoes.

Well a girl can never have too many sparkles in her day can she?

And yes those pasty white legs also made an appearance.

(Someone pass the fake tan stat!)

Purple Rain....

Come back sun..... All is forgiven..

I'm not liking this cold damp weather, neither is my wardrobe.

Here is what I wore to enjoy a family get together yesterday.

Jeans - ASOS
Shoes - Zara

One minute I am warm and off comes the cardigan.

Next I am freezing and on it goes again..

I was even thinking of putting my socks on!

So much for sorting summer gear out ready, much wishful thinking on my part I think.

Oh well lets hope that Easter is as stunning as it was last year.

Oh what a bargain!

You may be sick of hearing about our little allotment, however it is kind of tough, as I am so proud of what we've achieved!

(Sorry!)

So far we have purchased our greenhouse, (a whole £70, bargain or what!) built a shed and cold frame (at a grand total of £30) and purchased two pollytunnels. (thanks aldi, at £5.99 each)

We had seen a great tool for digging over the ground with interchangeable heads that another man at the allotment had been using and as we needed to by an automatic opener for the green house window began to look for one of those too.

In the garden centres the handle alone cost £10

With each head costing over £12!

So we brought our opener (£24) and tootled off home, popping into Lidl on the way.

And low and behold what did we find?

Exactly what we had been looking at at a much more appealing price.

£12.99 to be exact!

So if you don't mind, I am off to the allotment for a little therapeutic digging.

Happy April Fools Day....

I've got to be honest I did think of doing a prank, you know the usual ones like offering an iPad to the best comment or saying I had sold the bolt for £5,000.

But no I like you all far to much to be horrid so instead I will simply say have a good one and be wary of those pranks!
