The Good, The Bad And The Ugly....

Another week has passed us by far too quickly and I've not even been at work!

So here are my high and low lights.

The Good
Being Home

Yes their really is no place like home.

Family And Friends

A huge thank you goes out to all my family and friends for the help and support I have had over the past few weeks.

The Bad
Not Being Able To Do Stuff

So many things!
Like moving a pile of washing or picking up my ridiculously heavy iron.

The Ugly
War Wounds

I know my scar will heal and given time fade significantly but at the moment it's horrid.
Fickle and superficial I know.

Hope you have had an amazing week what ever you have been unto.

A Fib.....

When I down uploaded from my camera I found one solitary photo from my birthday weekend.

The new caravan on its first outing for my birthday 2014

However I didn't totally fib when I said I took none, as hubby actually took this one hence I'm in it!

Staple Removal....

As I had a trip to the Docs today, comfort was the main thing for todays attire.

I can't do anything with my hair as it is in need of a good trim, but I need my belly to heal a little more before I can book to get it cut.

The reason for my Doctors visit was to I have had my Staples removed and I must admit I am pleasantly surprised with the scar so far.
All the nurses said how neat it was but when you have what appears like a huge cut to you, what they say doesn't really register to be honest.

I couldn't believe that the removers they gave me from the hospital broke after only removing 4 staples!  We had to go back to the hospital to get some more and then return to the Doctors for the remaining one to to be removed.

I shall still be grabbing the bio oil to reduce it as much as I can.

And at least choosing what to dress in should be a little easier too now I hope.

A Distant Memory...

The beginning of February, the 1st in fact saw me celebrate my birthday.
It seems like I an age ago now.
And we went away to Chester for the weekend and my actual birthday we spent in Liverpool.

Now I must have been ill as I took no photos, not one the whole time we were away.

I did treat myself to a few new things.
A pair of new jeans, a hat (just because I love them) and a new coat.

In order to celebrate with the family on my return we went for a meal to Purnell's in Birmingham.
Even though I was in agony I have to say the food was good, such a shame I couldn't eat more than a few mouthfuls.

And they even gave me birthday chocolates, which were divine.

My girls have decided that once I am feeling better we shall celebrate my birthday, pain free which will be fabulous.

Sick Style And Flowers.....

Whilst I am still in pain I am at least dressed and a bit more up to having visitors.
That said my style is very simple, not hugging my tender tummy in anyway and still no make up or tidy hair.
(I really can't be bothered as yet)

I have received some beautiful flowers from friends and family alike to brighten up my home and my day.

And after the family cleaned the house from top to bottom the weekend every where is sparkly and clean. Lovely.

How To Fill Time Whilst Resting....

Thank you for all your lovely comments and I promise I am resting and doing as I am told.
Plus I have family and friends booking days in to ensure thats the case, bless em.

That said I know that once the pain begins to fade I will very quickly become fidgety and need something to occupy me.

Thats where I am hoping you lovely people can give me a little advice.
(Bearing in mind I am unable to bend, lift or stand for long periods.)

I am hoping I can have a go at sewing a skirt and dress, so any very easy pattern recommendations would be great.
(My last sewing venture was making Ashleigh's quilt and Christmas cushion covers)

I have a pile of bees wax from my in-laws, which I would like to make some lip balm from.

And I would like to have a go at some baking too.

So any recommendations?
Be it gentle activities, books what ever.

The Road To Recovery.....

Firstly thank you all for your lovely comments and concerns for my absence.
I can assure you it was one that was forced upon me.

As you know from my last post I was a little unwell and my (wonderful) new doctor insisted I see a consultant asap.  The appointment arrived 4 days after his request.

On arriving for my appointment and speaking to my consultant, I was promptly admitted to hospital and surgery followed 3 days later.

It appears I had a septic mass that needed removing straight away.
So I am now missing my appendix, an ovarian cyst and my right ovary which had all fused together and were in no fit state.

After a 11 day stay in hospital I was allowed home earlier this week and have been drugged up and looked after by the family.

I will be out of action for approximately 12 weeks, no lifting, no driving, no anything, which after being the one who runs round doing everything is really strange.
And whilst I know I'm not up to doing anything at the moment, it's going to be so hard once I start to feel a little better.

My family have been golden, rallying together and rushing round to make sure I always had visitors (The only thing that keeps you sane during your stay in hospital) and someone with me at home too.
I can't thank them enough.

As for the hospital and medical care I received it was first rate.
You hear so many horror stories about hospitals but all the nurses, doctors, consultants and surgeons were amazing.

Normal blogging will at some point will resume but in the meantime I look forward to catching up with all the blog posts I missed.
