And The Reason Being........

I know I have been absent for a few days but I have good reason.

For the past few months I have just felt shattered, but the past few weeks I haven't even been able to walk up the stairs with out being extremely out of breath.

Even the walk from my car to the doors of my head office have meant I have needed to stop continually  before entering the doors.

I just put it down to being so unfit and shattered.
After all even my GP dismissed me the few times I have been.

So when Ashleigh had to go for a check up, (to the walk in centre due to the doctor not having any appointments even though it was her heart that had given her pain!)  I decided on the spur of the moment to get me checked too.

After all when you feel rotten, you know you feel rotten.

So after a chat with a very friendly GP about my swollen legs and ankles (or cankles as my youngest called them) my complete out of breathiness after walking down the corridor to the doctors room and explaining I could sleep at the drop of a hat, one look in my eyes and a listen to my chest I was told straight to the hospital with you!

Not quite what you expect to hear when you weren't the main reason for going!

Ash had a ECG and was given the all clear but just told to rest, thankfully.

So off to the hospital we went.
After an EGC, two lots of blood tests and copious amounts of questions I was told my blood levels which should be at 13 are at 5, so no wonder I have been feeling so rotten.

And to add insult to injury my last set of blood tests taken by my GP showed my blood was very low around 6 weeks ago too!
(Yes mr GP I will be moving surgery, as I have had weeks of being fobbed off and been made to feel like a right hypochondriac!)

In order to my blood into the normal levels a blood transfusion is the order of the day or should that be night!

But  due to the time (Midnight) I was allowed home to return today for the dreaded transfusion.
And whilst I can't say I am looking forward to it, who would? I am so pleased to know I am not just a whinging old lady which was most definitely what I was beginning to believe.

Ashleigh Mae was a real star keeping my company even though she felt rotten too.
(My hubby sees no issue in letting you get on with it whilst he stays at home, bless him)

As for today Kassie is driving me and Ashleigh has insisted on keeping me company too.
Love em both loads..

So hope to update you later when "I've been topped up" as the nurse says.

  1. Oh, I'm sorry to hear that you've been feeling so rotten, but glad that there is a solution and that folks continue to give blood to make these things possible (myself included whenever I can).

As the recipient of many blood transfusions I promise you that you'll feel absolutely brilliant in no time. They really aren't as scary as they sound. xxxx
