Postcards From The Lakes....

The Lake District is a very beautiful place and even though the heavens opened all bar one day when we were there, it was still a wonderful break.

Here are just a few snip its of what we got up to.

Back To Black....

Kind of how it feels to go back to work I suppose or it could be the thought of the weather.

But for me it was actually my attire.
(and also a slight change of hair colour)

This was my outfit for my return to work yesterday.

Not the best plan in the world considering the windy weather we were having.

Lets face it, Marilyn Monroe I ain't!

Of well never mind.

A Recap Or Two..

I do trying to remember to take an outfit shot for each day, but as we all know life tends to get in the way!

So here is one I took the week before my hols, but didn't get chance to blog about.

Meeting Attire

A French Connection dress and Debenhams shoes.
Ready for a very early start in order to attend a meeting in London.

The Thin line

Whislt everyone else is going thinker my eyebrows have gone considerably slimmer!
I had my eyebrows and eyelashes re-tinited and shaped.
I think she got a little carried way with the treading but not to worry at least they grow.
(I hope!)

Hope to catch up with all your lovely blogs now I am back.
Stay safe in this blustery weather!

Wear It Pink....

So today is "Wear it pink day" for breast cancer care.
And whilst I might be away I shall be, in some way shape or form be sporting pink in support of this cause.

1 in 8 women in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.

So how often do you check yourself for any lumps and bumps?

The Good, The Bad And The Ugly....

Feels like an age since I have done one of these..

The Good
Second Interview

I'm really pleased to have (just) found out I have a second interview for a different job.

New Car

Well not quite new or mine per se but for the time being at least.
And its very economically too.

Autumn Shades

Ok so the weather may have been pants but the colours of Autumn I find beautiful.

Eggs a plenty

Bless my chucks they give me lovely eggs every day.

The Bad
Knackered shoes

I hate it when things just fall apart for no good reason.

Knackered Sofa

I can feel a theme going on here!

The Ugly
Work

I don't hate my job at all but it has been really stressful over the past few weeks due to possible redundancies (which I was in the mix with!).
But on a positive I have a whole glorious week off!

Hope you have had a good one and that next week is even better.

Off On Our Jollies...

So last night we celebrated a colleagues 25 years with the business.
Off we went to visit Broad Street in Brum and didn't return till much later than we intended.
(Life in us old folk yet!)

Which is a bit of a bummer as we are off to the Lakes today.

However we have no rush and will saunter along and be on site and settled before tea time.
After all we are on Holiday.
Excited.

Another one bites the dust.....

Because of the current role I do at work I manage to travel a lot of miles each week and because of this my company cars get a lot of wear and tear.

So just over three weeks ago my Honda went in for its service and didn't come home!

Finally after what seems an age I have my new company car.

A VW Golf Bluemotion.

And I am over the moon with it.

Whilst I might not have it longterm (thats a whole other story) for now I shall enjoy driving it.
The best thing is how economical it is and should save a fair bit of money in diesel I hope.

And it has even had its first long outing to Wales for a meeting or two.

Repair Time Again....

Today I have had to have a man out to look at my sofa as one side is drooping.
(Yes it is my side, a true sign I need to loose a few pounds stones)

Unfortunately it can't be fixed at home and needs to go to the work shop.
So we shall be sofa-less for at least three days!

Makes me wonder what the third thing to go will be?
(Please make it some thing that won't cost an arm or leg to fix)

That's a "wonder whats next?' face.
Dress - George (eBay)
Cardy - M&S
Belt - River Island

But on the upside we are getting ready for our jollies to the Lake district and I can't wait.

We hope to go off on lots of walks and even if it pees it down we can return to a nice warm drink in our home from home.

Very, very old George shoes.

Ashleigh and her boyfriend will be looking after Whiskas and the chucks and I know they will enjoy having the place to themselves.
Not sure what state the house will be in but as the saying goes what you don't see won't hurt you!

Debenhams Shoes Fail Again....

When will I learn?

Every time I have shoes from Debenhams they disintegrate faster than an ice cube in tea.
(well not quite but far faster than they should thats for sure!)

I brought these at the end of August and they are falling apart.

Plus to add insult to injury they had even over priced both of the pairs I purchased.
(Obviously not bothered by Retail Law or any other law then?)

Oh well back they go.
Lets hope their customer service is better than the quality of the shoes.

Cats And Dogs....

Yes the rain is still lashing down, but carry on regardless we do.

Thank the lord for brollies eh?!

So Monday morning means back to the grind stone.

And I don't know about you, but I'd much rather be staying at home with a nice cuppa and a good book.

Roll on Friday.

Did I mention I am off on my holidays on Saturday for week?
Mega excited and even if the weather is pants, the break from work will be fabulous.

The View From My Window....

Not a very nice one is it?
I know we can't complain as we have had good weather up until now, but its feeling rather cold and very wet here at the moment.

So my plans (after getting soaked feeding the chickens and collecting eggs) is housework, ironing and a lot of cooking.

The family are all with us today so a yummy roast and scrumptious pudding will be on the menu.

Enjoy your day what ever you are up to.

Pumpkin Pie anyone?

Our allotment has done us proud yet again this year.

With masses of yummy vegetables and fruit.

However the one that has both the girls ecstatic has been these:

11 of our (dirty) pumpkins and one lonely butternut squash.

Our fabulous pumpkins!
And whilst they don't look very large in this photo they are all great sizes.

Believe it or not we only grew them to fill a little space and fill it they did!

And whilst I am sure one (or two) will be used by the girls for Halloween the rest shall be eaten.
I have no idea in what recipes though.

Anyone got any tasty pumpkin recipes for us to try?

Shame I couldn't spend more time up at the lottie today but the weather has been dire.
Lets hope tomorrow is a little better.

Chick, Chick, Chick, Chick, Chicken... Lay a little egg for me...

Let me introduce you to our new additions to the family:

Maisy, Daisy, Rosy and Poppy.

They are very friendly ladies and began laying straight away.

Who knew I would enjoy owning chickening!
I'm not quite ready to hang up the heels just yet mind.

Change Alice To Trayci As I Discover Wonderland....

On our last week away, one of the places we traveled to was Anthoy in Torpoint Cornwall.

Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am a huge Tim Burton fan and as this had been the set for the film Alice in Wonderland we had to see it.

The grounds were lovely.

Inside was filled with some stunning artwork.

Every part of the garden was indeed enchanting.

And Andy behaved like a silly child the whole time!
It was fab.
