Gifts Galore.....

How stunning has this weather been?
Aren't you just loving it?
It felt like waking up in the med this morning.
And lets be honest everything always feels better when its sunny.

Gifts from Kassie
Gifts from Ashleigh

We had just the best time on Sunday celebrating our delayed Mothers Day.
I do love having the girls here together and they get on so well its a pleasure.

Gifts from niece and nephews

I had some beautiful gifts and cards.
And Ashleigh is taking me to get a new purse (mines disintegrated!) as part of my present.

Super cute Handmade chicken card
Card from Andy
Beautiful gifts from Andy

Including some fabulous Olive trees

Potted around the pond
And to add to the gifts I have won a wonderful prize from the delightful Jo over at The Good Life
A wonderful blog full of beautiful home grow veg and flowers, along with fabulous photos to go with them
It has put a whopping great smile across my face all day, I'm that chuffed.

Hope you don't mind me borrowing your photo Jo x

For us the past few days for us have been spent catching up with jobs we've been putting off.

Lots of weeds to dig out

Now its neat rows of potatoes planted

Lots of allotment jobs have been done.
Which is as frustrating as anything for me as I can't do the digging etc that I want to.

Even more potatoes and peas are planted
Shed loads of garlic

And even a little planting at home too.

Asparagus is starting to grow too.

I still have the chicken run to sort but I'm hoping to have it done by the end of the week.
Then at least I can try to repair my poor lawn!

This needs to be dug over now and the fruit cage to sort.
Still a fair bit to do!

Lets hope this sunshine stays with us a while.

    1. Thanks Rachel, I was so chuffed. The allotment is coming on well now but as we have just taken on a different one its harder work. Chickens are lovely and the eggs are divine.

    1. Your not kidding Sophie, its always at this time of year that people tend to give up the allotments as it can be a little overwhelming. That said its would the hard work when all the lovely fruit and veg is on your plate.

    1. I'm not honest Caroline. They all mother me up at the lottie and at home so I wouldn't be allowed too.

I think the girls are lovely but then I am a little bias, lol

  7. Awww, thank you for the mention, and of course I don't mind you borrowing my photo. I've done the most stupid thing and missed the Post Office today. I don't know which day we're on with it being half term and I forgot that the Post Office has a half day closing today. I promise I'll get your prize in the post tomorrow. What lovely gifts you got from your family, and still a new purse to come. I saw a gorgeous one in Debenhams a couple of weeks ago but didn't have any spare pennies to buy it. Never mind, I'll put it on my Christmas wish list. This weather's been great for getting some outdoor jobs done. I love it once the clocks have gone forward as we get some extra time on an evening to pop down to the allotment. I've got my first early spuds planted but the rest are yet to go in.

  11. Happy Mother's Day- (our is in May I think) and happy sunny days! What a difference it makes to feel the lovely warmth of the sun on one's face, arms and soul. I soaked up some much needed Vitamin D this weekend- oh it really was a treat!
