24 Years Ago Yesterday.

A young 16 year old girl went into labour.

She was scared and nervous and wondered what the hell she had let herself in for.

Her father drove her to the hospital with her mother sat beside her calming her as much as possible.

As she stepped into the hospital her waters broke all over her favourite boots, gutted she was.

Seconds later she was met by the father of the child and they were escorted to the delivery room, at no point did her parents leave.  They paced the halls for hours not wanting to leave there baby as she was having her own.

Eventually they were allowed to enter the delivery suite to meet there granddaughter, my daughter Kassandra Nicole.

A beautiful healthy 8lb 1oz baby girl, with jet black hair and a healthy set of lungs!

So today I say Happy Birthday for yesterday to my baby girl.

Who would have believed that you are now 24?

And such a beautiful and talented young woman.

Even though times were tough as you were growing up, you always made it worth while.

I love you loads and I hope enjoyed a fantastic day yesterday.

You smiled as you opened presents.

Ate a yummy birthday meal.

Still snuggled up to mommy.

Laughed and joked with the people around you.

This time you opened your own presents.

And thankfully not a sword was in sight.

Both you and Ash still giggled.

And I am so proud of my little girl.

And as for my parents, well I can never thank you enough for being there for us both, never turning your back and being our rock. We both love you more than words can say.
