Is it sad that I am so excited to have been able to harvest my first home grown food from my allotment?
On second thoughts please don't answer that!
Here it is;

These will be turned into this;
Rhubarb and custard cake, which trust me is yummy.
And I don't even really like rhubarb!

Not good for the diet though, oops.
And when I get the next lot I shall be attempting AThriftys Mrs recipe for her;
RHUBARB & GINGER UPSIDE-DOWN CAKE
It looks extremely yummy!

I love rhubarb. Well done on your green fingers. I'm useless at growing anything.

Congratulations on the fruits of your labour. Just wondering why you chose to grow Rhubarb if you don't like it? Lol.

It does seem strange doesn't it?! It was already on the plot when we took it over.

Fresh rhubarb? you lucky thing! It costs a darn fortune in the supermarkets.
ReplyDeleteSince I've tried to eat healthier all homemade puddings have flown out the window. I do miss them, they're my favourite. Hope your cake turned out yummy x
Isn't it exciting? Our rhubarb has shot up since we've been away, too. I'm rather partial to a rhubarb and ginger crumble with lashings of natural yoghurt....mmmmm! x
