Sexy? No... But Truthful At Least....

Now we all like to look nice, of course we do.

After all no one wants to look like dogs dinner do they?

But after work one of the first things I do is get out of my work clothes and into my slobs.
(plus it goes without saying that it prolongs the use of said work wear!)

You know the ones I mean, that comfy outfit that means your home.

And these are mine;
(If you are of a sensitive nature look away now)

Hoodie - Disney store NYC years old
Jeans - ASOs

Not stunning at all, but much me.

So what are your slobs that you reach for?

Reach For The Sunglasses, This Is Going To Be Bright....

Firstly Happy Sunday, what ever you may be up to.

As for  me,  I am well and truly hacked off with this horrid wet weather and decided to bring a little summer sun into my day.

How?

Well, by wearing extremely bright colours of course!

Top - Gap
Jeans - Miss Selfridge
Shoes - Steve Madden

You couldn't miss me in this get up.

Can you tell the fringe needs a cut?
But at least it did the trick and brightened my mood too.

What have you been doing to stay cheerful in this horrid weather?

Pamper Me a Little Or Pamper Me A Lot!

A while ago I was lucky enough to win a Whanda voucher to spend on a spa day and I decided to treat Kassie and I to a spa morning and a massage at a local spa.
(It was her Easter treat, enjoyed so much more than an Easter egg it has to be said!)
It was heavenly.

I had a  Khanya of Africa massage;

And Kassie had a hot stone massage;

We spent time in the gym;

Impressed now aren't you!

We swam;

Had a sauna;

And even went in the steam room too.

To say we felt so relaxed it was untrue.

Now if only I could win another....

For The Woman Who Means The World To Me.....

This is for the lady who gave birth to me,
Wiped my snotty nose and dirty bum.

For encouraging me to be independent and unique,
And helping with my home work.

The lady who put up with my tantrums,
And stood by me when most turned their back.

Welcomed me back home when it all went belly up,
And never said I told you so.

So to my mom, I wish you a very happy birthday;

And as always tell you I love you so much for just being you.

Approved Food.... Order No 2....

Yes our second Approved Foods order arrived today;

Loads of goodies.

We did have one mishap mind.

A few jars of pickled onions had smashed in the box and damaged a couple of things we ordered.

I have emailed them to let them know so will see what they say.

However even the smell of pickled onions couldn't dampen hubbys smile;

Scratchings and gem sweets, what more can a man want?!

Trying To Be Lady Like...

Now that is a big ask of me, I can tell you.

Today I have been presenting to many of my "Big" bosses and therefore wanted to look the part;

Dress - Juian McDonald (Debenhams)
Shoes - Barrets

Hense the very grown up look.

I must admit to it making me feel very confident whilst I was stood at the front with lots of eyes on me, which is very scary thing at times.

Unfortunately I now have a presentation to do for the owners of the business....

What ever will I wear???

Yes Miss!

On my way out the door today my daughter commented how much my outfit looked like a private school uniform.

Dress - Oasis (thrifted)
Jacket - Dorothy Perkins
Shoes - Primark

Which I must admit made me chuckle all day.

Especially when I got to answer "yes miss" to my boss.

Trouble is I think they just thought I'd gone crazy.

NEWS FLASH...

That happened years ago!

Happy St Georges Day To You...

So what did you to celebrate St Georges day? Anything?

Me neither to be honest.

I did wear a red and white scarf to work if that counts?

And to think last year was lovely and sunny;

So sunny I was in a sundress and sunglasses!

No such luck today!

To be honest with it feeling so cold (even though it was meant to feel warm)

and wet, (its was bucketing down today here)

and all I feel like doing is closing the curtains, snuggling under a blanket and going to sleep.

Which is exactly what I'm going to do.

Night, night.

A little Bit Of DIY....Second Attempt!

Well bugger me!

I had written my post, uploaded my pictures and clicked post when, yes you guessed it, it disappeared!

Naughty blogger!

I have attempted a little bit of DIY.

Turning this;

A cheap thrifted shirt.

Into this;

A casual shirt, Trayci style..

Update.... The back now has a slightly deeper cut out which I think looks better.

What do you think?

The Good, The Bad And The Ugly!

Another week has flown by and with awful weather too I might say!

Here are my high and low lights of the week that was;

The Good
See Ashleigh study hard

A true mother speaking.
I hope all her hard work pays off and if it doesn't it won't be for a lack of trying, bless her.

Decluttering

I have listed loads on eBay which I hope will turn into some extra cash.

Andy's Success

Whilst I didn't like him staying away from home, I am so proud of all the hard work he has put in supporting the team from Birmingham uni.  They got through to the semi finals, which is a great achievement.

He also managed to help get our business an advisor award too. What a clever hubby I have.

The Bad
Rain

How horrid has the weather been?
Well its great if your a duck I suppose, but last time I checked I didn't fall in that category.

The Ugly
Driving

I don't usually mind driving, which is a good job considering all the miles I do.
But this week it has really got on my wick.
Enough said!

Hope you have had a good week.

Come Rain Or Shine....

But I'd rather have the shine if its all the same, as long as its not my face thats shining that is!

Who left the tap on?

Some one must have, because the weather is horrid.

Plus it really doesn't help us ladies (by that I mean you and me) know what to wear for the best.

So as I have (yet again) more meetings today this was finally what I settled on;

Suit Jacket - Next (great buy as its lasted me years)
Dress - Oasis
Shoes - Primark

Nothing to exciting but smart enough I think.

Well you can't beat a LBD.
(which in my case stands for a Large, Black, Dress!)

How have you been coping with this constant rain?

The only good thing is my water butts (no large derrière jokes thank you) have been filling up nicely and the allotment is looking very healthy.

Home Alone In Reverse.......

How strange it is to be the one left at home....

All alone too!

Andy has gone to be a judge in a SIFE competition and left me for the bright lights of London.
Canary Wharf no less.

Can't say I blame him to be fair!
Especially after seeing these pictures of his suite;

His very own stairway to his room.

The view from his balcony.

The funny thing is I have also had to be in London today for a meeting in Dartford.
(not a fact I was aware of until after he'd booked train tickets, typical eh! But never mind at least the company will pay for them.)

And would you believe a three hour drive took me five hours due to this crappy weather?!

So its fair to say I am shattered.

As for this evening?

Well Ashleigh is at her friends, so I am going to have a meal I prepared yesterday, knowing full well I wouldn't want to cook just for me. And I am going to watch all the programmes both Andy and Ashleigh hate.

I will even try to star fish the bed.

But I shall let you in to a secret if you promise not to tell?

Promise?

Even though I love the peace and quite I do miss not having them here.

That Strange Feeling....

Isn't it strange that I feel bad for not posting for two days?
I mean it's not like anyone is going to tell me off, most people only post every few days. But for me I missed not saying hi.

So what have you missed?
Well not a lot to be fair!
Sunday consisted if Allotment, roast dinner, allotment and running.
(Well I say running, when what I actually mean is moving a speed whilst resembling a demented elephant.)

Sunday also saw me bite the bullet and rejump (not literally!) on the scales. Shocking is all I have to say, hence the running and sensible eating.

We have now planted potatoes and mangetout. In the green house we have planted little gem lettuces and it is still full of seedlings, doing very well I might add. And I repotted up my tomatoe and beet root plants. We even made a cane store.
(Well I say we, meaning of course the royal we as all I did was hold the canes!)

Yesterday consisted of meetings and so too does the rest of this week, seeing me all over the place like a crazy lady.

We also have Ashleigh revising hard ready for her next batch of exams.
Who would want to be a teenager eh?

Anyhoo enough waffling.

As today is peeing it down and the sound of heavy rain awoke me at 5am this morning (on the one day I didn't need to be up at that time too,typical) I'm not feeling as bright as I should.

But in an attempt to make myself feel better here's my outfit for the day; Practical and appropriate for the meetings I had.

Roll neck - Primark
Dress - Primark
Jacket - George
Shoes - Primark
A very cheap but warm outfit!

 So how was your weekend?
